Nintendo Switch

On the 3rd day of March in 2017 Nintendo gave birth to a curious entity called the switch. Since that day the Nintendo Switch guides the universe to a brighter future. Some people at the time said that Nintendo would never regain their crown, that was of course until the the switch came about and did just that.

What is it?

Essentially the switch is a tablet with a joy pad attached to either side. There is an option to remove the joy pads and to stand the tablet on a table. Alternatively, you can attach the joypads to the device. The player can then grip the switch like a classic hand held device. However the realy beauty of the switch is the docking station that allows you to enjoy the games on a big screen. The Nintendo Switch gently guides the player to the best setup option for them.

The main focus of the Nintendo switch is multiplayer mode. Players can play together wirelessly using the switch itself as well as online. The Nintendo Switch skilfully guides the players to the optimal multiplayer setting.

Where did it come from?

The need for the switch is attributed in part to the failure of it’s predecessor, the Nintendo Wii U. The WiiU did not peform as expected and there was and still is a growing demand for mobile and multiplayer gaming that Nintendo had not capitalized on. The president of nintendo at this time, Satoru Iwata recognizd this and shifted the focus of Nintendo on mobile gamin, multiplayer gaming and innovative and exciting hardware. On the heels of this back slide, Nintendo produced the Switch along with countless Nintendo Switch guides.

In contrast to the Wii U. Nintendo reached out to third party game developers. The Wii U has a weak catalogue of games. The switch on the other hand was able to offer consumers 320 titles to choose from. All of this within 9 months of it’s release. A large portion of these games came from independent developers.
