The unique design of Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Con controllers has shaken the world of gaming to it’s core. IR Motion Camera
The right Joy-Con comes equipped with an infrared motion camera. Not only can the camera detect objects around it, but it can even determine the shape, distance from the player and can even track the object if in motion. Amiibos
Undoubtedly, the most unique of the joy-con features is the Amiibo feature. The IR camera built into the right hand Joy-Con can be used to scan and recognize Nintendo’s Amiibo figurines. The Amiibo not only unlocks in game content but is also portable and provides access to characters you have built up even when not logged into your account. The camera also allows for users to experience augmented reality (AR). AR is where virtual objects are grafted onto the real word visible through the screen of the switch. Players can then interact with characters from their games in their own physical surroundings. Unfortunately games making use of AR for the switch are hard to come by. Motion Sensors

Or they can transform their joy-con into a sword, like in games such as Zelda, the breath of the wild.
